Nationals Trade Glenn Gibson for Elijah Dukes

by @ 6:24 pm. Filed under 2008 Nationals

Over the weekend, the Nationals traded Lastings Milledge who had his problems in the past.  This goes way beyond on this as the Nationals traded minor league pitchers Glenn Gibson for Elijah Dukes.  The centerfielder was accused of violating a restraining order last year and was placed on the temporarily inactive list after the Rays options him to the minors.

Still, Dukes has a load of talent and while Gibson wasn’t a throw away, Dukes was a blue chip prospect before he began having all of the personal problems.  Gibson was ranked as the Nationals eighth best prospect by Baseball America  but he has yet to pitch a full season in the minors.  But as you can read in this narrative, Dukes has star potential, he just has to curb the attitude.
