Nationals Give up Nine More Runs, Lose Again

by @ 7:08 pm. Filed under 2007 Nationals

Since I’m a glass half full kind of guy, I looked at the box score and saw the Nationals drew six walks.  That’s some nice patience at the plate, huh.  It even meant they scored one more run then they did yesterday.

Okay, I’m done.  Three runs on five hits isn’t going to cut it and especially when your starter gives up four runs in the first inning.  Shawn Hill gave up five runs in total (four earned) on two hits and five walks in 5 1/3 innings.  Chad Cordero even got in on the action and gave up two runs himself.  Jon Rauch was the only Nats pitcher not to give up a run.  He should win an award.

At the plate, Ryan Zimmerman had a run and an RBI and Felipe Lopez reached base twice (hit and a walk) and he scored a run.

Matt Chico goes for the Nationals tomorrow.  It’s all on him to avoid the sweep.
