Nationals Lose Bad in Home Opener

by @ 12:53 pm. Filed under 2007 Nationals

I think we should get used to this and John Patterson is considered out ace.  Anyway, the Marlins lit him up for six runs in less then four innings as he was chased out of the game.  The pen didn’t fare much better and the end result was a 9-2 loss.

On offense, Ryan Zimmerman and Dmitri Young had two hits a piece and Zimmerman scored on a Dmitri Young double.  The other run came when Austin Kearns scored on a sac. fly by Brian Schneider in the fourth inning.

Shawn Hill takes the mound for the Nationals tomorrow.  We’ll see if we can get a little more offense in our second game out.
