Nationals Win Their Fourth Straight

by @ 6:53 pm. Filed under 2008 Nationals

The Washington Nationals won their fourth consecutive game on Friday night against the Atlanta Braves.  The Nationals won 7-3 behind a solid pitching performance from Odalis Perez and some timely hitting.  The Nationals record is now 50-85.

Odalis Perez started on the mound and picked up his sixth win of the season.  Perez lasted 6.1 innings and gave up only two earned runs and three total.  He struck out three batters and walked only one.  Joel Hanrahan got Washington through the ninth inning to get his seventh save of the season.

The Nationals got on the board in the first inning when Ryan Zimmerman singled in the first run of the game.  Willie Harris didn’t get a single hit but walked three times and scored twice.  Emilio Bonifacio had two hits including a triple.  Every Nats starter had at least one hit except for Jesus Flores.

The Braves and Nationals will play again on Saturday night in DC.  Jason Bergmann is scheduled to start on the mound for Washington.  Game time is 7:10pm.
