The Washington Nationals stayed hot on Monday night and won their fourth straight game. The Nats went to Colorado and beat the Rockies 9-4. The Nats are now 42-70 on the season.
Tim Redding started for the Nationals and didn’t pitch one of his better games of the season but still got the win. Redding lasted just five innings and gave up four earned runs. Redding struck out six and walked three while allowing six hits. Saul Rivera, Jesus Colome and Luis Ayala threw four innings of shut out ball to help close out the win.
Emilio Bonifacio hit lead off and led the Nationals with three hits, he also tripled and scored two runs. Willie Harris hit second and had two hits and three RBI. Harris and Jesus Flores each had a homer for Washington as their offense put up one of their better games of the season.
The Nats and Rockies will continue their four game series on Tuesday night. John Lannan is scheduled to start for the Nationals. Game time is 9:05pm.
