The Washington Nationals lost their tenth straight game on Sunday afternoon at home. The Colorado Rockies came into town and beat the Nats 7-2 on Sunday to drop the Nationals record to 44-81.
Odalis Perez started for the Nationals and pitched pretty well. He lasted six innings and gave up three runs, only two of them earned. He allowed only four hits and struck out three batters but had his record drop to 5-9. Jesus Colome came on in the 8th inning and gave up three runs to help give the Rockies the win.
Washington took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a Pete Orr ground out. They scored again in the fifth inning on a Lastings Milledge ground rule double that scored Emilio Bonifacio. Milledge, Willie Harris, and Pete Orr all had two hits a piece to lead the offense.
The Nationals have the day off on Monday and will play on Tuesday in Philadelphia. Jason Bergmann is scheduled to start the opener. Game time is 7:05 pm.
